Welcome to the Classes at Mariposa Gymnastics Club

Parent & Tot – Walking to Age 3 – 1 hour class

One adult/caregiver will actively participate with their child under the direct supervision of a qualified coach.  In this structured class children will explore fundamental movements such as jumping, hanging, swinging, climbing, balancing and supporting.  Basic gymnastics body positions and simple stretching will be introduced with an emphasis on development of motor skills and coordination.  This class will also help your child learn social skills, such as listening, following instructions, sharing, taking turns and developing friendships.

Just for 3’s – 3 to 4 years- 1 hour class

This is a structured non-parented class that gives the child an opportunity to become more independent.  Basic gymnastics shapes, balances, swings, hangs, jumps and rolls will be taught during this class.  However we are also developing basic movement, coordination, confidence and listening skills to help your child become a well rounded athlete.

This program is designed to encourage independence and parents do not participate in this class.

Kindergym – 4 to 5 years – 1 hour class

This class is designed for our beginner gymnast and will introduce children to the sport of gymnastics.  The participants will run, jump, roll, hang, swing, balance and climb through challenging circuits.  They will also be working on skill progression, coordination and strength that is taught in a fun and safe environment.

Advanced Kindergym – 4 to 5 years – 1.5 hour class 

The participants will run, jump, roll, hang, swing, balance and climb their way through challenging circuits.  They will also be working on skill progressions, coordination and strength that is taught in a fun and safe environment.  The instruction in these classes are geared towards each athlete’s ability and development level.  As they become more and more experienced athletes, they will be challenged with more complex development.

Beginner Boys – 6 to 8 years – 1.5 hour class

These classes are perfect for the first time gymnast or someone who has been with us for a while.  The instruction is geared to each athlete’s ability and developmental level.  In this program gymnasts will learn skills with gradual difficulty through our level system.  In all levels, we focus on practicing quality gymnastics skills.  The levels have skills lists for each event (Vault, Rings, Pommel Horse, Mushroom, Parallel Bars,  Floor, Trampoline and Conditioning) that gymnasts are required to learn before moving up to the next level.  It is normal for some levels to take multiple sessions to complete.

Boot Camp For Boys – 9 years + – 2 hour class

This class is designed for athletic development.  The focus of the class is on agility, balance, coordination and speed.  As well as training in strength, power, spatial awareness and focus.  This class will help your boy become a very well rounded athlete.

Beginner Ninja – 5 Years+ – 45 Minute Class

Junior Ninja – 6 Years+ – 45 minute Class

These classes are for boys and girls.  We are developing jumping, vaulting, climbing, swinging, landing and rolling Ninja skills.
This class is a combination of Gymnastics, Parkour and Ninja Skills.

Intermediate girls is a feeder program from beginner girls with gymnastics instruction at all 4 Olympic events:

Vault, Bars, Beam , Floor and Trampoline.

Junior Intensive Rec – 6 to 8 years – 3 hour class
Senior Intensive Rec – 9 years + – 3 hour class

These classes are designed for the more advanced gymnast and you must have a coaches referral.  As a prerequisite the gymnast is required to have a back walkover on floor and chin-up pull over on bars.  The gymnasts in these classes will be working on and tested on the skills that are required to progress into the competitive program.  They will be working on more advanced skills and routines.

Elite Petite – 4 to 6 years – 2 hour class
Junior Elite – 6 to 8 years – 2 hour class

These classes are designed for the more advanced gymnast and you must have a coaches referral.  The gymnasts in these classes will be working on and tested on the skills that are required to progress into the competitive program.  They will be working on more advanced skills and routines.

These classes are by invite only!

Tumbling – 7 years + – 1 hour class
Beginner and Intermediate

Tumbling is a prerequisite course, meaning that the gymnast must have a solid walkover. The focus of this gymnastics class is floor, tumbletrak and trampoline.

Trampoline 7 years + – 1 hour class
Beginner

This one hour class teaches beginner moves on trampoline, tumbltrak and mini-tramp – beginner trampoline does not address inversion.

* Intermediate and Freestyle classes are by recommendation.

Intermediate and Advanced trampoline are classes aimed at teaching and perfecting inversions on mini tramp, our trampoline and our 30′ tumbltrak. These classes are excellent cross-training for the free-style skier, snowboarder, and wrestlers, as well as awesome fun!

Adult Fitness at Mariposa Gymnastics

Adult fitness provides high intensity interval training for improved accuracy, balance, coordination, cardio-vascular endurance, flexibility, speed, strength, precision and velocity.

Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.

Preschool Drop In Gymnastics

This is an informal time for your child to spend time with mom or dad and explore all the equipment that Mariposa Gymnastics Club offers. There are limited spaces available so arrive early not to be disappointed.  The program is pay-as-you-go. Only $10.00 for 1 hour on Monday mornings  from 9:30-10:30am  or $10.00 for 1.5 hours on Thursday mornings from 10:30am-12pm . Insurance registration fee of $25.00 must be paid up front on the first visit. Insurance runs July 1 – June 30.
